If there was a piece of paper within arms reach, I was undoubtedly scribbling to my heart's content. My weakness was the 24 packs of skinny markers that held what seemed like every color under the sun. I remember ripping into the package and finding that perfect shade of yellow, blue, or pink and using it to color *everything. *Hours passed like seconds as I drew, swooped, and scrawled my way through countless pages of notebook paper.  You can imagine, however, the disappointment that met me when it came time to work on something more important than recreational doodles- like a school poster- and found that my beautiful markers had dried up; the ink no longer there. All that was left were the ugly browns and off-colored greens.  If you are flying blind in terms of how your company compares to your competitiors, that similar, sinking feeling of "where'd the ink go?" is probably all-too-familiar. You thought that your money should be spent in one place, all the while you should have been using those funds and attention in another area all together.  So, how do you remedy this to avoid misaligned spending?
