For anyone thinking about striking out on their own, the first question is usually “Do I have what it takes?” (And is usually followed by some variation of “What the Hell am I thinking?”) Being an entrepreneur means long hours and lots of risk, but for many the rewards are worth it – even if they ultimately fail.

What’s surprising is that according to the Founder Institute’s findings, referenced in this article from Forbes, the qualities successful entrepreneurs possess are not always the ones you’d expect.
